Default I Need Some Troubleshooting

Hey everyone.

I took a trip to the track for the first time on June 1st.

I have a 99 A4 Camaro with a couple things done to her. I was hoping to break into the 12s on my first trip since the previous owner had been running 12s. I was surprised to find that it was hard for me to break 14 flat!

The car pulls decently until it comes time to shift from 2nd to 3rd between 85 & 90. That RPM flutters for a good 2 to 3 seconds and then sluggishly switches right before the line. My times were all pitiful!

-14.02 @ 99.86
-13.96 @ 101.64
-13.8 @ 103.9
-13.95 @ 100.47
-13.71 @ 102.6

I have a hypertech programmer and have messed around with the shift points to what I thought were helping the car out. I raised the rev limiter to 6600 and raised the shift firmness as well. This has never been a problem before on the streets.

What the hell cuold this be from? I'm going to reprogram the car between now and next week when I take her back to hopefully make some better runs.

Thanks to all who could lend some advice.

Default Forgot a couple of things

Forgot a couple of things.

I was at WOT during most of the runs. In runs 3 & 4 when it hit 85 I totally laid off the gas to get the car to shift...it didn't.

The flutter was from 6000 to 6600.

Sounds like your hitting the rev limiter or have some engine missfire, Also bear in mind that you must allow average 200 to 500 RPM with a trans in good shape with resonably tight clutch packs to make the shift from comand. for instance seting the shift point in the tables to 6000 rpm it could take as much as to 6500 to actually make the shift , This is particulary true of the 3rd gear shift since theres alot more happening than in any other shift hydraulically

but if he removes the #7 checkball and capsule and plugs it with a 41te park pawl cup plug that will eliminate the lagging 3rd gear shift. i love that mod i do it to all mine i usually leave a little more clearance on my 3-4 pack though for timing....i dont do it to customers cars though for liablity issues lol

If you let completely off and it didnt make the shift , You have and issue , Could be mechanical could be electrical , Have you used the tuning software to raise the line presure by chance ?

Unfortunately there are only a few features available on this tuner, and that isn't ine if them.

Ok kills that Idea , solenoid flooding , sounding more like some internal problem with the 3-4 clutch
