Default 4L60E doesn't shift into 2nd!

So I installed a Trans Go shift kit! Which was a pain by the way! And everything is fine except... It won't shift into 2nd gear. 2nd gear is like being in nutral... 1st revs up to 3000 - 5000 the shifts. Can some one please help me... Thank-You!

Yes. Then on a rolling stop and go, it down shifts into 1st and starts the cycle all over again.

Yes. I installed everything as Trans Go said. Should I change the 2nd and 4th gear servo?

Well its as stated possible the pin dropped out of the case or if you disassembled the servo there could be several issues there. Most comon of which would be the teflon ring came off during reassembly .You can get first then it goes to 3rd what about 4th?

If you had a good second gear before and now it is shifting 1-3 I would like to know if you hav a plastic 2cd accumulator piston in the housing ? If you installed a TG-2 performance kit with the shims/washers that they give you for the 1-2 acc. a plastic piston could take a dump just bolting the housing to the trans and 1-2 oil would leak right through !! Yes I took the servo's out before instalation. I'm stumped. Do you think it is something under the pan that's screwed up or something on the side of the transmission the 2nd piston? The 2nd acc was not plastic. What should I look for when I dissasemble?

Any new pistions or other parts recomended?

I put in a corvette servo. None of the pistons were plastic.

What about the band adj shims? I installed one.

4th Gear is fine. It runs good on the free way, just it doesn't shift up to 2nd or downshift to 2nd.

ok since you have 4th you have eliminated the band pin etc and the band itself . i am leaning heavily toward the servo it self , I would say remove the servos and then take some pics of them exactly the way they come out and send , Im betting on something missassembled there since you did change the servo

It sounds like you may have damaged one of the seals on the servo or maybe one is missing . Which Transgo kit did you install ?

Seems like the hd-2 replaces the 1-2 shift valve and adds a spring and ball to it and there could be a misassembly in that area but I dont know if that would do it or not !

The two valves are moved into various positions for each gear I think that would affect more than just second, Im staying with a servo teflon ring or improperly assembled servo .
