Default I have a "Shutter" in Reverse(need help)

Im not sure why its doing it but now when i put my car in reverse and give it gas i get a shutter like wheel hop. i probably only get going about 5 mph so its not wheel hop...feels like something is loose but only does it in R no other gear. its an A4 car with a 4k stall, do you think a verter bolt might be loose or something.

possibly or the reverse piston is not sealing....there is an orfice hole in the reverse piston that is actually a pressure leak it is there to make sure that air is released from the drum it is supposed to seal with the cushion plate but sometimes that doesnt happen.....could also be the low reverse clutches slipping also

Damn I hate taking my car to people, Id rather do what I can myself. I hope its the rear because i have a vibration that has been with the car since my 373 install auguast 05. I think its the gears but im not sure. I think if it was the rear it would do it in drive too. maybe performabuilt will see this cuz its their tranny, a stage two that i put in 2k miles ago.

hmm why so just in reverse though and what in the rear would cause this? Any trouble shooting i could do in an empty parking lot or taking the inspection cover off? I just changed the fluid a few hundred miles ago and everything looked ok.

Not true that it isn't wheel hop, necessarily. I
picked up a bad case of this with an adjustable
torque arm swap on a lowered car, it's akin to
brake hop (in my case at least). Too aggressive
a pinion angle could be at the bottom of it. Are
you suspension-modified out back? How about
you have a "stunt pilot" floor it in reverse while
you stand outside and watch the tires?

Im all stock suspension, but ive had vibration for a long time thats why i bought a tranny to try and find the source. I hope this is my shitty rear going further into hell and not my tranny. I will call performabuilt next week but I tell you what sometimes i wanna be stock lol wait screw that. this problem however is very frustrating as you can probably imagine. Car is back in my home town now until i can rip her back apart to put in a set of 410's i know are good to see whats what. dont know what esle to do for now...

When you have time to call , I will help you figure out the source of the vibration, Everything can be found and solved just sometimes it can be tedious .

I know how you feel I have been there and done that I spent months with a 91 stang I used to have trying to find a vibraton , only after a freind cut open the drive shaft did I find it , In the case there the inner tube they have two with rubber between them had cracked , Spent a fortune and could have just gotten a drive shaft lol
