Default trans problem

Hey I was just wondering if anyone on here had an idea of what would cause this problem a couple of weeks ago I put my car into park and when I took my foot off the brake the car continued to roll forward. As of recently I have found out that when I put the car into park it does not actually stop it from moving if on an incline.

Other then that I have not had a problem with the transmission I have a 2000 camaro ss auto

Any help would be apprecaited thanks Anthony

The question I would have is... How far does it actually roll? The reason I ask is the parking mechanism is fairly failsafe.

If it rolls more than say a couple of feet then the linkage could be out of adjustment or there could be a broken part internally.
