Default Trans removal

I am doing my stall right now, and I can't see how I can get to the top few trans bolts, any tips? How many bolts are there? How do I get my linkage off?

If I remember correctly there is 8 bolts in all holding the transmission to the engine. I always took the cross member out and slowly let the engine/transmission down untill the oil pan rests on the cross member. That makes it pretty easy to get to the top 3 bolts out. The shift linkage just pops off the bracket on the side of the transmission if I remember correctly. Good luck on the stall installation! You will love it when you are done.
