I have heard nothing but bad things personally... go with FLT or performabuilt IMO.... I have thrashed mt FLT Lvel 5 in a 4500# truck witn cam and 150 shot and 3600 stall, and it never misses a beat....

dont do it. dave dosent know how to treat his customers. and his trannys are really nothing more than a stock unit with a couple of aftermarket parts. after my second one failed he cursed me out on the phone because i was up set with him. if your going to spend the money get a flp.

Be sure to check out our units at www.aceracingtrans.com. We are new sponsors on Tech, but don't let that fool you. We are not new to racing transmissions. Between my senior builder John and myself we have over 50 years in the industry!
We developed our 4L60E Racing Transmission in a real world racing environment with in conjunction with Xtreme Horsepower and on a Dyno Dynamics chassis dyno immediately next door to our shop. We spent well over 1 full year in development before releasing it here. We are confident we have a unit that will suit your needs.
Good Luck with whomever you decide to go with!
Give us a call before you make your decision, you won't be dissapointed.

well im researching 4l60e trannys for my SB 406 thats putting around 550-600 hp.
im concidering a mega monster tranny but stumbled across someone selling a built stage 4 rock on tranny BUILT by Fastech in TX.
the price they are asking is VERY tempting.. 1200 bucks.. but i dont know much about them.
Rock on didnt build it Fastech did to RockOn specs..
my Camaro is going to be paddle shifted and see some road race time, but mostly street.
so i asked everyones opinion.. anyone know Fastech?

rock-on? i thought they went out of business so many innocent people got screwed over by them. i remember the horror stories like it was yesterday. my heart really went out to those poor guys on the forum that basically got their money STOLEN from them without restitution. they'd be the last guys i'd have touch my transmission.

I would look to see what we have to offer as well. You would need one of our level 4 or 5 builds with the hp you are going to be running. I will inform you up front that we are booked for about a month. If that is not an option take a look at what the boys at ACE have to offer. I have talked with Gilbert quite a bit in the last year and I believe he is "good people" in my book! Good luck. Vince

i say screw the 4l60e crap and go turbo 400. thats what im doing with my new car. im going with a th400 from rossler and a neal chance convertor. i just cant see waisting money on 4l60e's screw over drive if your worried about gas buy a toyota prius.

i dont need a prius.. i got the cash to pay the pump.. AND to buy a good trans.
I want to run a 4l60e or 80e.. besides, its going to be paddle shifted.

Hey thanks Vince yer alright, how's Chuck doing these days?
We have have a stout workload ourselves right now. At the end of the day we too custom build our units one at a time. We have found that this is the only way to maintain the highest quality. So if you are in a big hurry to get a high performance transmission then we are not the company for you. We are booked about 2 weeks out ourselves.
We have a game on for 4L80E's as well. In fact, if you are looking for an electronic overdrive transmssion that can take brutal horsepower that is the way to go indeed. For this application a good place to start would be our Level 2, from there we would tailor it to your combination.
Good Luck!
