TCI Flexplate
I bought a new flexplate and stall from TCI and now I have a horrible vibration. The TCI Flexplate came with a metal sleeve that fits over the Stall and into the Flexplate. When I tried to install with this bushing my tranny housing was 1/4 inch off the motor, and when I called TCI they said that it was only need if I wan't using a TCI Stall. I've sinced called TCI 3-4 times and each time got different answers as to when this part is needed. I've been told it's needed on all LS1/tranny, only with an LS1/TH350 or 400, only when used with a TCI stall.
Does anyone know what this piece is for?

The pilot hub is different on a th350 and 400 than a 4L60E, that's why they give you the sleeve.
I have experienced incorrect converter bolts causing a vibration, converter is not held tight to flexplate, but you are not talking about a noise, and that is usually noisy after a few hard hits.
Next thing to consider is if the converter is balanced properly. The problems you are experiencing are the reasons why I do not recommend d TCI converters. Been bit way too many times, but that is my own experience. Sorry for no conclusive answer, but hope it helps.
