Default Shifter sticks, doesnt line up..

Ever since my trans was rebuilt back in december, it seems to stick really bad sometimes..when I shift out of park it takes a little bit of force and sometimes the console pulls up a little, I'm just wondering what i can do to fix this and also my shifter doesnt line up, which isn't really a big deal since it's not difficult to tell what gear I'm in anyway but I figure while am at it I could fix that too..

Sounds like you might need a new shifter cable and need to ajust it.

since my rebuild is still under warranty, think I should take it back to the place or is this something I could do myself?

If you have a complaint with the repairs done return it.

It could be a simple adjustment of the linkage.
Without knowing your level of capability it is difficult to determine if you can accomplish the task or not.
But you can try.
Raise the vehicle on both ends and install support stands.
Do not rely on a jack.

Place the shifter in Park.
Loosen the nut at the cable at the transmission.
The lever will probably move a bit.
Now tighten the nut and try the shifter.
