Default HD3 and Converter lock up

I'm having my trans rebuilt and getting the Trans Go HD3 manual valve body kit. Am i going to have problems locking the converter up? If so how do i get it to lock up normaly? Its a 95 OBD1. also im going from a 2600 stall to a 4400 stall anything else i'll have problems with? THANKS

No! Having installed several TG HD-3 kits myself I can say that if installed correctly the manual features will not interfere with L/U at all!

You might have issues with L/U timing because of the converter stall speed. But look me up if it is not right after you get it running because it could easily be just fine.

I know the HD3 make the 4l60e and full manual VB trans with no need or use for electronics, So im not sure how the lockup would work unless you somehow reprogramed the PCM to ignore all other functions of the trans and just lockup at some preset throttle and MPH. Of course if your using it in a non A4 car I am not sure how you would do it other than a switch or something.
But personally though I have read the instructions I have never personally installed the HD3 only the SK and the HD2 kits in a 4l60E. I have done the full manual 700r4 many times however.

Yes, that's what I have in mind. Keep me in the loop.

As you may know already, when going to a higher stall sometimes the TPS and MPH do not agree in the current L/U tables. If so then those tables may need to be adjusted.

I will have to look at the directions tomorrow. I do know if you are not running a computer you will need to wire up the tcc solenoid in the pump with a manual switch.

What PCM system are you running? Factory or aftermarket? And did you plug in the Electrical connector on the transmission as it sill requires the input from the PCM in order to engage the converter clutch.

Shouldn't be a problem at all. It will retain proper lock up functions.

Get a scanner on it and determine if the lock up function is being commanded.... just reread this thread and realized LU is inop.

I like it a lot i feel like im in more control of the car while driving around, i think the HD3 would be funner with a smaller stall though.
