Default Will TCI stand behind their product?

Long story short...installed one of their LS1/TH350 flywheels and it cracked after 4 passes.

It was installed correctly with the hardware THEY sent and torqued to factory specs. It's hooked to a 90% stock motor right now. Not real happy at the moment.

I wouldnt call and be pissed...just explain what happened...if I was in the business, i'd rather work with someone that is calm than someone bouncing off the wall pissed.

As a business owner the last person I would work with is someone who is telling me what I will and won't do. Haven't had that experience here, but did many times at new car dealerships when I was in administration. I can't speak for the guys at TCI, but do call them and ask them what their policy is and when they tell you it is not a warrantable repair calmly ask for a person who has the authority to make a policy adjustment and see where that goes. I have no idea what their warranty is as I do not sell their flexplates / flywheels. I bet they'll help you out.

I am curious to know if you called them before posting here... it may be too late in the day for that. And I realize you are venting...... but give them an honest shot at making a difference before taking a bite outta someones day.

Years ago I broke a flexplate because of improper converter spacing, be sure to check that!

Good Luck.

Called them today and explained my situation and they said they would warranty it and send me a new one ASAP. I'm am hella pleased and very glad that people still stand behind their gear. Now we'll just see how it holds up after the new cam/heads go in.

Glad to hear that. They do a get a bad rap sometimes, but they are one of the few performance companies I know will actually warranty a part outside the standard 1 year warranty.

I tried the stocker and had a really bad harmonic vibration. How did you center yours up? If the TCI piece doesn't work out i'm gonna weld and re-drill the stocker.

TCI's customer service ranks at the bottom of my list. They were in no hurry to return phone calls, emails or return ship my flexplate like they were supposed to. Thanks to them my car will be down for ANOTHER weekend and will miss ANOTHER race.

I'm confused....5 posts ago you were more than happy. Now they won't return your calls? What were you calling them for?

5 post ago I called them and they said "sure, send it in and well ship you a new one right out". Apparrantly telling me what I wanted to hear works for getting customers off your back. I fell for it. I shipped it next day air so I could get the ball rolling and get my new one back. That was 11 days ago and it STILL hasn't shown up.

I don't think a clean setup has much chance of cracking a stouter
aftermarket 'plate. Look to the vibration you noticed with the stocker,
that kind of thing is what puts the flex to the flexplate and can
crack anything you put in between the mover and the shaker.

They were probably off for the rest of the week after the 4th. Monday the 9th would be the earliest they shipped it out to you. If thats the case, I wouldn't think you should have see it until early this week. You might also want to look into that vibration...........TCI's flexplates look really strong.
