What does it take to put a v-6 460 in a v-8 car ? Need Help

I have a 99 TA and I made a big mistake, I gave my trans to a guy to fix and it has been 3months and I have'nt heard from him. I came across a trans from a V-6 cheap so I figured i could change the bell and tail housing, and stick it in. I still have the stock covertor from my car. The bell I found out is not from an F-body, Itried to install the trans and convertor is too tight against the flex plate, when the housing is bolted up. Any suggestions on what I have to do or am S.O.L.

It canbe done as I said on the phone buts likley more troule than its worth , You would need to change use the LS1 bell and the LS1 input shaft and pump assemblies More or less disassemble the unit . It still would not be completely the same as the V8 versions but would work. Personally I would not do it I would get the correct trans application for my car.
