Default broken tailshaft housing question

Well I broke the tailshaft housing on my 2000 A4 Z28. I found a few used ones on the internet. Is there any differences in years?? Or between the Trans Am mounting versus the Camaro??
I will also be going to body mounted torque arm as well.

Thanks.

There is no difference from TA to camaro in your time period LS1 . However if your relocating the torque arm now you can save youself a little money and get the NON F body housing since you will not need the mount holes. 98 UP 4l60e and 65E trucks etc Much easier to come by.

Alright thanks alot man. I just wanted to make sure there was no difference. Does it matter whether the truck is 2wd or 4wd??
I should have posted this question as soon as it happened. The damn thing would be driveable now!!

A 4x4 will not work . It has to be a rear wheel drive with 6 bolt holes !!

Alright, I have one more thing to ask. Unknown to me, my father checked at the dealership and they need the VIN cause they said there was 2 different lengths of housing.

Can someone elaborate more on this??

Thanks.
