Im trying to figure out why nothing works with a stock camaro shifter. I noticed from other pics on the net my tranny doesnt have a longer shafter that the lever bolts to, thus it rubs on the pan. Also when the lever is in 1st gear its parellel with the tranny which i see as a problem. Also the cable doesnt reach the lever. Is there something wrong here or am i just doing it wrong?

I'd say you have the wrong lever for your application.

try flipping the braket so the nipple points inward

yeah tried that and as you can see from the pic first is all the way parallel so it would get in the way. Does the 60E lever look like the one i have in the pic?

Use the 60 lever. That is a truck one and will not work.
