Default Who has dropped the engine/tranny together in from the top?...

Has anybody (with full sized truck) dropped the engine/tranny together through the top at one time?......Just wondering how much manuvering is involved or should I just put the trans in from the bottom....

I have, just have to have an engine lift with tilt. Not that bad, especially if it's in a truck. More room to work with.

That is a doable project.
Is that a word?

You need a bit more height but very easy.

I did it with a 1992 silverado with a 454 and 4L80E, didn't even take the hood off. Just got to have the chain up close.
I do prefer to put the trans in through the bottom and engine through the top though.

Yes, its a truck...and it sounds like a go...dropping in sounds better than lifting up ...IMO. Thanks for the consultation.

did it on a 93 gmc 1500, just have to get high enough unless you rip the front end off.
