Very strange.. Would like input on this..
Just took my car (2000 C5 A4), out & about for some killer jaunts & noticed that in 3rd, @ WOT my car would hit the rev limiter on the 2-3 shift, but when it was in D, WOT it shifted 2-3 fine..
ANY idea whats going on?
I don't think there was any wheel spin.
My buddy who was logging me as well, and lost communication every time it happened.
There was also a blip of the check engine light, but no codes..
Very strange..

This happens ometimes as the overun clutch is coming back on and sometimes causes a presure drop when in the 3rd not the OD position. When manually shifting try skipping the 3 position before time for the 2-3 upshift, Though the scanner thing could also point to and electrical problem I would try the shift thing first .

UPDATE:
Went to the track tonight, ALL CLEAN runs..
No shifting issues at all in 3..
The 2-3 shift was crisp & flawless...
Can I chalk this up to wheel spin on the street at high rpms?
