I also welded in a stop so that after 3rd gear it won't go any farther back since I use a TH400. I love it and I didn't have to hack up my console because I still use the stock shifter. If anyone is interested and has any questions let me know.
I'm cheap, do you have any pics?

Can you use a round shift ****, possibly the same one as stock on a b&m hammer shifter? or are u stuck with the t-handle?

I have a ss **** from ws6store i would want to put on there.

whats the part number on the Hammer shifter?

This shifter will work with a 4l60e?

quicksilver with a 3 spd.
im about to lose my stock look. bout to move to a glide and wont be able to use the shifter anymore.
i do not want the ratchet shifter look.
i have kept my car stock appealing.
anyone have pics of the black stealth pro ratchet?
at least it wont be all bling in there.
keep it black and toned down.

Cutting stock quicksilver handle, welding an M6 threaded handle portion to that, modifying shifter body (under console) to fit under the M6 upper console

nothing special, just get in there and hack until the console fits down nicely.
i had one M6 top i had to cut in the front. i cracked that one and have another one in the car currently, so the console may require trimming as well.
could be a year/mold difference.
air body saw works great. dremel, grinder. it all does the job.

thats about the only pic i have.
i did weld tabs onto the shifter, so it bolts right in with factory bolts where the stock auto shifter use to reside.
i already have a sale lined up if i go to a glide.... but its not looking good unless i want to build a set of headers.
what i have is all in the way of the linkage for the shifter.
since its a shifter thread, anyone have pics of a powerglide pan with the shifter linkage hooked up?

What did you have to do to get that to work like that and where did you get the red part?

The red part comes with the shifter and the lever is for the reverse lockout

i have a quicksilver setup now, and wont be able to use it with my powerglide.
the hurst promatic is available in a glide version.
from their online catalog, operation is the same.
i need to call them and ask demensions vs a quicksilver, so i can keep my 6 spd look. if not its time to figure out something new.

called and asked the tech line today and the gentelman said the shifters are different parts, but mechanisms are close in overall size.
he did not have exact deminsions.

S&W racecars come to mind. when you call those guys, they will email you a build sheet, or give you a measurement within .060" usually.
if all goes well, i may have one of these shifters by mid november and can report back a realistic fitment.

I don't have any pics at the moment, but used a B&M Mega shifter ratchet shifter in my 04 goat. it is listed for mid 80's Camero....not listed for the 4l60e, but I did a little cutting and welding on the bracket s for the cable mount and shift lever on the tranny.....works great
