My Transmission dipstick is stuck. It won't come out of the tube, so I can check my level.

I'll unlock it, and try to pull it out, but it won't budge at all. It won't twist, or pull.

I know I can pull out the whole tube, and if the stick is stuck in the tube, then it will come out. But I was just seeing if there was an easier way, or if the stick is stuck in the trans, not the tube.

Has any one else had this issue, or have any ideas how I can get the stick out.

i have that same problem. when its cold, no go. when its warm it pulls right out.

Yea my'n does that from time to time.....Usually just some wiggling and pulling will get it out. Once i do get it out..i usually put some ATF on the rubber seal part at the top of the dipstick..this usually helps the dipstick come out a little easier next time i go to check it.

Get some silicone spray or something similar and try to spray around the seal to lubricate it. Once you get it out coat it with some ATF and make sure the inside of the tube isn't rusted.

Thanks for the tips guys. I've tried to wiggle and pull on it almost to the point of it breaking. So I'll try to lubricate the inside of the seal, and see if I can get it out.
