As far as I am aware no aftermarket company is, The cores are to expensive and the pricing would be really high , We have looked into it. Perhaps in the future when they are not so new.

There is no 6L60.

BMW use the 6L45 in the 3 Series.
Cadillac use the 6L50.
The 6L80 is used in the Y Car and Trucks.
The 6L90 is for HD Trucks.

The only 6 speed GM currently uses from Aisin AW is for FWD applications like the Saab 9-3.

Any sponsors rebuilt a 6L80E yet? How strong do they look?

Haven't been into one yet. Was going to scare up a couple of cores this winter when things slow down. Most likely will have to pay a price for it from someone like LKQ, the market is not flush with them as of yet.

I talked with Rodney @ RPM and at the time (2-3 months ago?) he mentioned they were not as strong as the 4LE stuff. Hopefully that can change.

1st: 4.02
2nd: 2.36
3rd: 1.53
4th: 1.15
5th: 0.85
6th: 0.67

handles 430lb torque

6L80E is another 6 speed auto with the same ratios.

from what i've read, it fits where the 4l60e would fit.
correct me if i'm wrong.

We have rebuilt quite a few of them but they are just a liability at the moment because no one can tune them effectively. There is no real aftermarket support for them as far as parts go. We engineered a few upgrade parts for them but there aren't really any hard parts failing, just clutch failures from poor tuning.

You are correct. We hope someone can figure out the tuning as well. We have a LOT of customers right now who are up the creek without a paddle because they are trying to stuff 700+hp through them and keep smoking clutches because of impropper tuning.

The A4 is only as good as the person who built it. Let me know if we can turn your shitty A4 into a bad *** A4 for a LOT less than $5k

Give Mike Kurtz at Century Transmissions a call. I'm currently running one of his built 6L80s in my LS7 powered 2007 Corvette and as of last Friday I'm up to 84 low 10 seconds passes with issue.

newbie here.... is this the only option for a 6 speed auto? what about the 6x from tci? a little over a year from now i was looking to go with an ls6 in 02 ws6, and was looking into a 6 speed auto andfor gearing and gas mileage. drives me nuts when my buddy can run 4.10 gears and get better gas mileage than i could with 3.73's.

the 6x may be a little beefier right now and a simpler swap

the 6x looks like a great idea, but what is with the OD? seems really short for a 6 speed.

AFAIK, the engineers of TCI chose to sacrifice the OD for more performance.

i believe GMHTP has an article on a circle-d 6l80e. think they're still a sponsor.
