Who knows the weight difference from a 4L60E to a 4L80E?
Anyone? Just spent alot of time and some $$$ lightening the car but I think the 4L60E isn't long for this world at this power level. I want to go 4L80E but how much weight will it add?
BTW, I know this isn't the tranny forum but I know there are quite a few FI guys using 4L80E's.
Also, aside from the convertor, crossmember, and shifter, what did you spend to make the conversion? I know I need the adapter harness. Will my driveshaft need lengthened, shortened, yoke changed? Does the 4L80E "eat" more power than the 4L60E?
Its always something........

well I recently made the switch from M6 to 4l80. You need a Turbo 400 yoke the driveshaft length is fine. I am sure the 80 using a little more power than the 60 but much more reliable.

I measured about a 75lb. difference before I added the deep pan which took another ~5 quarts of fluid and accounts for another ~7-8lbs.
I'm not sure about the 80E using more power - there have been enough reports now about people maintaining or even gaining in (lower)ETs and/or mph to make me question that.
