Default idle problem

i just installed my new tranny and 3000 stall and for some reason when im at a stop light my car seems to idle weird.. its idling up and down acouple hundred rpms when im just sitting and the oil pressure needle is moving a lot also.. it seems like i have a cam in it but i dont... anyone kno what would be going on thanks

is it hunting for an idle speed meaning it might go to 1k rpm then fall to 500rpm then up to 800rpm then back to 500rpm when your coming to a stop. It should even out and settle to 550rpm or so(stock cam). If so you might need some tuning with the idle circuit.

Since you just did work first I would recheck the work and all vacume lines towards rear of engine , But assuming a small diameter converter I have heard of a tuning issue and I am not sure at all because I am not a tuner but it has something to do with crank sensor relearn or calibration due to the lower weight of the converter.

it's because you have less rotating mass... you will get a couple of misfire codes too, Im sure. You need to bump your idle up to about 750 and your surging problem will go away.

i have a pcm4less tune already so should i just send it back and tell them to bump my idle up to 750
