Default Tranny noise

What would cause a tranny (4l60) to thud when downshifting? i have check exhaust and tranny mount. even replaced the mount with a new mount. I have a new torque arm. so its not the TA. (spohn) Also hear the thud at time when upshifting but not as bad as when down shifting. any ideas what it could be. could it be from inside the trans or is there a issue somewher else

I cant think of anything that would cause a thud on a downshift from inside the trans, Now there will be to some exstent on OD and A more noticable level a downshift shock to the drive train when downshifting . As for a diference in up and downshift sound the drive train is being stressed in a different direction for each way. Now I did have a customer call the other day who had installed and aftermarket torque arm and bushing and he was asking about a thud sound after the install. Many of the aftermarket bushings and mounts are not as pliable as the factory ones and will transfer more of these sounds and feeling into the car.
