Default tranny whines in reverse

why does my tranny whine when engaged into reverse while backing up? it sounds similar to a stretching cable sorta noise. it doesnt sound good, funny thing it doesnt happen all the time. any ideas?

most cars whine in reverse. (around 15=MPH)

Agreed is your moving very fast at all its a little noisy of course wasnt ment to do anything but very short movments backwards, Now if you mean it just buzzes a little in reverse when still I have heard pumps make that noise some call it presure regulator buzz but it dosent seem to hurt anything,
