Who has the STRONGEST BUILT 4L60E??
I am wanting to purchase a new Performance Built 4L60E. I was wondering people's opinions on what sponsor has the STRONGEST 4L60E Transmission. Money is no issue!
I don't want to go with a TH350, TH400, or a 4L80E for my own reasons.
I am not looking to start an argument between the sponsors or other froum members, I am just looking for HONEST OPINIONS/EXPERIENCES.
Thanks ahead of time,
-James

That would be a very subjective question since all the sponsors have some pretty fast cars running there trans and doing well. I can say we have the best warranty of the group. But of course for most people the best is going to be whatever they are running so the question that will be answered is who has the largest number of trans out there and there people will reply lol , Good luck in your quest

I guess I might need to rephrase the question:
Who has had a Sponsor Built 4L60E that has been nothing short of great? One that has taken a street/strip beating, and has kept on shifting.
Please share your experiences...

I don't have a performance tranny yet, but I have been a member on here for quite some time and visit the auto section frequently. There have been quite a few tranny builders come and go, but one that has always been here and always gotten sterling reviews is FLT. I've talked to Vince numerous times and must say that he is an amazing sponsor to deal with. He's always straight forward and honest with his recommendations, and I don't believe I've ever come across anyone who has one and hasn't absolutely loved it.
I'm not saying there aren't other sponsors that make awesome trannies, but FLT trannies take serious abuse and make it look easy. I've gathered that much in my time here at LS1Tech. I wish I could afford one right now, and I'll have one some day. In the meantime, I'll keep reading their reviews and wishing. Good luck with whichever one you choose. Hopefully some FLT owners will chime in with personal reviews.

To be unbiased and honest, I've also heard that CPT has great trannies as well. Another one that I've personally talked to is RPM transmission....not sure if their a sponsor though. Their tranny is supposed to be up to the challenge.....I've read that RPM builds trannies for Lingenfelter since they are located close to each other. Vince at FLT actually told me I'd be happy with one of their units if I were to choose them over FLT. Hope this gives you some options.

Couldn't be happier with my FLT tranny! HIGHLY recommend them I drive my car around town 2-3 days a week, every weekend street racing and every other weekend at the track, 450rwhp NA and I am usually running anywhere from a 100-150 shot on top of that 450rwhp, well worth the money!

i have had 3 cahall performance transmission trannies(http://www.cahallperformancetransmissions.com)
...first was in a mid 10 sec daily say 25k in 2 years and about 100 track passes and aprayed it a lot even through overdrive on the street...it cut 1.50 and ran 6.90' consistantly...(wasnt even the full build, was a race build)
another in my friends daily lt1 with bolt ons, been great for 6 months of daily HARd driving...car prolly runs mid 12's
3rd in my car runs 10.0 9.9x cuts 1.4 60' and i drive it about 300 miles a week to car g2g and racing...sprayed about 20 bottles through it so far in the last 6 months...its been great
not to mention their price is unbeatable and frank is great with customer service...sends me messages every few weeks asking about how my cars doing...all the trannies are still pulling...drives like stock almost till you get on it...you can feel the 1-2 shift but after that its like stock shifts...

Check my sig....
I've sprayed through shifts, launched on the bottle plenty of times, towed, hauled, driven through mountains with a 3600 converter... in a truck weighing almost 5Klbs on the street.... my motor's making well over 500lbft and right about 500hp... I think that speaks for itself IMO... Finish Line Transmissions...

I am glad to see you doing your homework. Not enough guys do.
I would imagine that by now you have talked to many folks who have run units built by different shops. But have you called those shops and talked to the guys building them? I think that is your next step if you have not.
Feel free to give me a call and I will give you some very useful information that will help you in your quest for a good transmission.
