Default turbo 400 questions?

I'm in the middle of my build right now and have been thinking about changing the A4 to a th 400. I have searched and read the sticky for a few days and want to get a few things straight.

1. I can use a TC made for the swap OR use a 9.5"/10" sbc if I get the TCI flywheel and use a spacer. Right?

This is my main concern. I found a 400 w/ 4" tail that needs rebuilt for a $100 and I'm thinking about going after it.

Thanks Nick W.

What would be a fair price for my A4(89K miles) and TCI 4K stall(8K miles)

No problem there, highest I paid for a rebuildable th400 was $40.
If you do the work yourself you can get high quality parts and have it hold 550-600 hp for under $500 not including the TC.

If it's out of the car theres no telling if it works or not. I'd also want to pick it up and see if the vin stamped on it matches the cars vin and the miles are close.
If you can't prove mileage it really doesn't matter if it has 8k on the trans or 200k on it a smart buyer is going to see it as a rebuildable core and offer a fair price for a core. Same with the converter.
