Default 94 camaro 4l60e tranny problems

i have a 94 camaro auto, my problem is when i get on the gas. more than half throttle it will be fine through 1st gear and when it goes to shift into 2nd it will just rev. it dont engage. but say im driving down the highway and it is in overdrive and i kick it down into third it is fine. only when it goes to second it slips.

what could this be?

There maybe some issue with the 2nd accum piston/spring or the band how many miles are on the car and what does the fluid look/smell like?

107k. fluid is a very light brownish color. has no red tint to it. i thought that maybe changing the fluid would help. as far as smell it really dont smell burnt or anything.

I would pull the pan and change the filter while in there not whats in the pan or take a pic and we can get a better idea, But 107k is alot particulary if its seen any performance driving.
oooh Cherry Cheesecake yummy! lol

Well it depends on your power, unless your really xstreme on the power I would just order a well built Performance unit. . Now if you think your gonna have alotta power a 4L80E might be in line but its really exspensive swap.Consider that the 4L60E has gone 107k and is only now dying ?

93 trucks and 94 all are unique, While any year from 93 to 97 4l60e could be made to work with some mods. I would suggest you get one made to go in your car, And if you talking low milelage used its a virtual impossibility.

Well there are a couple different case styles in those years some would not acomodate your converter cover other would have to be cut to clear your exhaust or both. The electronics changed there are several ways to deal with this ranging valve body swaps to various valve body mods. To much to go into detail , I strongly suggest you find the right one for your car. Anything can be done as they say but that dosent mean it allways should be lol

Frank you forgot the blue in this post. LOL I personally would make sure to get the correct unit for your car. I'm not a big fan of mismatching things just to make it work. Do it right the first time and be done. Feel free to give me a call if you are thinking about purchasing a trans for your car. I have the correct f-body 4FFD core with tail housing in stock waiting to be rebuilt. Let me know if I can be of help. Vince

Sounds like you are having a band failure and or a 1/2 accumulator issue.

You could try a service and a PCS (presure control solenoid) We also have the correct unit for your car. But like I said before I did anything I would drop the pan take a look and if minimal debris. Replace PCS and FILTER put in some new fluid and see what happens, If theres alotta crap in there order another trans and drive that one till it gets there.
(As Vince mentioned looking at the 2nd accum would be a good idea to)
(Vince I like Blue. Greens cool too BREAKS THINKS UP A BIT LOL)

Presure control solenoid its in the pan and easy to change during a filter change and wether the fluid would help or hurt is anybodys guess I have seen it go both ways
