Default How long did your stock trans last w/a stall?

My YankSS4000 should be here within the weak, I still have a stock rearend-and tranmission. Hopefully she doesnt fall apart.

How long did your guy's stock rearends/trans last with a stall and minimal bolt-ons?

a tranny cooler and a tune "go hand in hand" with a stall! as long as your tranny is working properly now it should be fine but you never can tell once you start modding your car to go faster but have fun til' it gives!

9 Days, and it had been rebuilt less than two years before that. Just slapped in a Performabuilt Level 2 yesterday.

Mine is still holding. I put my Yank 3500 in at 76K miles and I'm now 97K miles. I'm with Doom, stall and tune go together like carrots and peas.

Getting a stall and not getting the best tranny cooler money can buy and a tune is like thinking your going to make a PB and J with just bread and a butter knife. It may sound like a good idea at first but in the end all you have is a mess!

Unfortunately I don't think an average can be drawn from this poll. The reason is the question of how long a transmission will last is directly related to the driver, the maintenance the unit has seen and the type of driving the unit will see after the installation of the converter.

We have seen them last for a very long time, and have seen them fail in a very short time as well.

I say, just know that you are asking a stock transmission to see much more of the engines power band for longer periods of time. That's not really a problem though if it has been well maintained. Just remember... the stock unit was designed to handle somewhere around ~350 ftlb torque. They can last a long time with more torque applied, I have seen it many times.

Good luck!

Almost 30,000 miles with the Vig 2800 and stock trans! I get a complete flush every year, and I have a cooler and tuning!

I have had the ss3600 in my car for about 18,xxx miles, and then about 15,xxx of those were untuned, And it just now started acting up, right after I got a tune on it. lol. It seems like it is not wanting to lock up at all, and it loves to stay in 3rd, Unless I tap the gas while going, then it seems to shift. My gas has gone down a lot.... But if I go ***** out, she shifts awesome, and screams. I currently have 103,xxx on it.
