700r4 kickdown
if my kickdown is not adjusted right would that cause it to not go into third from second gear under full throttle. i have a b&m shift kit in this tranny also if that helps.

well it was looser and i tried tightening it.
and if you pull on the cable there is no resistance then you can feel it hit the plunger in the valvebody then there is resistance. how much is it supposed to push that plunger in? should it push it in tight or not all the way in?

yes it is in a 94 camaro. the 1-2 shift is great. the 2-3 shift is not so great that is where im having the problem. if i drive it at about half throttle maybe a little bit more it shifts hard and feels good.

trans came out of a good running 89 2 wheel drive truck. then i put a shift kit in it. tranny was very clean when i pulled it apart. but it was not rebuilt. so i figured it might have been the cable not adjusted right. cuz a shift kit is fairly simple and straightforward

Well the cables possible but basically the ajustement should look like this it shoudl be pulled approx 1/4 inchat idle from rest and be at max travel at WOT , The neitral part is what worries me though, Any reason you went from the 60e back to a 700r4 ?

Ah well thats a reason , Well try reseting the cable like I described and also you may want to read the info at the link I have below, But if you do not find and answer here you may have a 3-4 clutch failure in progress
