Default Performabuilt converter vs Yank SS

I'm going to be buying a level 2 trans from performabuilt to go with my MS4/PRC 5.3 2.5/ Fast 90/90 setup. I'm trying to decide whether or not to go with the converters that they sell with their transmissions or just buy the trans and go with the Yank SS4000. I will be spraying in the future hoping for around 600rwhp. The Performabuilt TC is a 2.5STR and the SS4000 is a 2.6. I'm looking for the harder hitting converter that will work best with nitrous later down the road.

Which would you guys choose?

Thanks!

Are you spraying out of the hole? How much will you be driving this thing? Gears? Race weight? What are you hoping to trap?

Don't forget to add Circle D to the list. If you are looking for a hard hitting yet streetable converter we have the perfect one. It is out 5C LS1 converter. It had all the goodies, billet front and piston for strength. Check out this link

If you are serious about the spray and 600+ HP level, consider a Pro Yank Extreme. Otherwise the SS4000 will do just fine.

I wouldn't even compare Yank's converters to Performabuilt's. Yank simply builds a better converter that is in MANY fast cars, they have been around a lot longer, and they have a lot better reputation and warranty.

In case you didn't know, Ragtop is kind of our resident converter expert....he's had a lot of experience with various converters. Take his advice seriously. He was a huge help to me while trying to decide which converter to go with and I can't stress enough how thrilled I am with my decision...I wouldn't have gone this route without Ragtop's input.

I am biased towards Yank as well....I've had three. With their new warranty program and their past success, it's an obvious choice!
