Default All LT1 Trannys the Same?

Do I need a '95 only trans to replace the blown unit in my '95 Formula, or will any LT1 trans work just fine?

I think '93 is a non electronic 4L60
'94-'02 are 4L60E with '98-'02 LS1 have different bellhousing.
I'm sure a member "TransTech" will chime in to correct me.

Thanks for the reply.

Is it unwise or impossible, then, to use the '93 unit in a '95?

Well a 93 is not a 4l60e its calld a 4l0 but in actuallity its a 700r4. You could do it but would be alotta changes as far as PCM andhooking up tv. The 94 to 97 units can be adapted to work , Depending on what year would determine what changes would need to be made. Can the be used yes 94-97 are all adaptable, If you know what year you are going to use get with me and ill tell how to make that specific year work. But unless you getting a junkyard trans or something I would just order a trans from us or any sponsor here and we will get you what you need,

Performabuilt, thanks very much for your reply and for the information. Believe me, I would love to order a nice, new trans from you (I have read many of your posts here and seen your website, and I like your professed commitment to the customer). But, a $1600 transmission would break me financially right now...I'm stretched thin. That is why I am reduced to doing a used tranny install or selling this, my favorite car

The guy I get my used F-body parts from had a '95 for sale for $200, but I didn't act quickly enough, and now all he has are '93 units.

Hmm...now I have two options to consider: New for about $1k or used for less than half of that. I need to think of what is the best course of action for me at this time.

Well you have to ask your self. Does the new one have a warranty and does the used one have a warranty. How many miles on the used one and how many on yours?
