Hi there. I am from South Africa and have a Hummer H3 with the 4l60e gearbox. My main problem is that it slips gear in 3rd. All the other gears working perfectly. So i took the valve body off, to go through it. What i did find was that the spring on the 3-2 control valve was broken in half and intertwined with each other. My question is would this be a cause of the 3rd gear slipping? Any help would be greatly appreciate

Regards Andre

no, it would not be the cause of your 3rd gear slip issue

If you do a pressure check while going for a drive and have normal pressure in 3rd gear it is probably worn/burnt 3rd clutch pack.
3/4 clutch pack failure is a fairly common issue with the 4l60e
