it drives fine at normal speed but when I am at WOT it doesn't shift into 4th (auto), engine just pegs out and I let off. I doesn't happen every time but it might be getting worse/more frequent. I checked the tranny fluid and it seems fine in level and smell. Is this the 3-4 clutch going out?

Its not supposed to go into 4th at WOT. GM made it that way I believe

I think he's hitting redline and letting off....at least thats how I understood it. Does it go into OD when you let off the loud pedal a little?

yeah, it is bouncing off the limiter when it doesn't shift. It goes into 4th ok when I just cruising around. And i know it used to go into 4th at WOT all the time... unless I hit 170 in thrid last month, b/c I know i didn't let off till the end on that run, lol.

these transmissions shift into 4th wide open throttle. it makes the shift really slow though, I guess that is the torque management to save the clutch packs. Mine shifts into 4th at about 130mph

well, that didn't take long, went out on me today... time to upgrade I guess

actually lost 3rd... got on it a bit and then I smelled a burnt smell, game over from there.

definately would of liked a FLT tranny but funds are limited... going with a stock low miles 4l65, hopefully it'll last another 30-40k
