The car is a 96 and he just got a unit from transpro. Found that by doing a quick search. Here some other info I found for you.

When the PCM detects a continuous open, short to ground or short to power in the 1-2 SS valve circuit, then DTC P0753 sets. DTC P0753 is a type B DTC

It sounds to me like either you did not get the main harness connector plugged in all the way, damaged wires on the install or the unit that you received does not have the proper internal wiring. Go back over your install and see if you find it. Let us know what you find. I would also be interested as to what other codes you got. Vince

Yes sometimes knowing the other codes even though they may not be transmission specific can help isolate the source of the codes at times.

Maybe let it cool down a bit. Make sure that the plug is fully snapped down to the main case connecter. That is where your problem is I believe.

The plug in the case might have some wobble to it. As long as it does not push into the trans you should be ok.

Now with codes changing as you plug in the conector and mess with it now I am leaning toward a bad internal wiring harness , But check the resistance of the solenoids, Personally I would just ask him to send me a new harness and the two shift solenoids, I know if we had a situtuation like yours thats how we would handle it .

Make sure that you did not unplug the solenoid by accident when you removed the pan or damage it. I have seen it happen. Also did you try to clear the codes before the road test? If not try that first to see what happens.
