Default Doing a burnout at track on slicks to heat up tires

What is the best way at the track to do a burnout to heat up the tires with an auto car? Just put it in D and hold the brake and hit the accelerator or is it better to use like 2nd or 1st gear instead of D?

I always take the traction control off of course and put it in first. Torque brake it a little and let off the brake and let'em roast.

So you don't stay on the brake at all to keep the car in one spot? You just let em roast until you get up to the staging beams and then get on the brakes?

So when you say 2nd you are talking about the actual number 2 on the gear selector right?

Heres wha I do...

At the track
roll to the far edge of the waterbox
Place shifter in 2nd
Hold the brake about halfway and smash down the pedal for 5-7 seconds
Roll the burnout out if the box and allow the ET streets to "bite" into the track
Creep to the staging beams, hover just below 1500RPM and stab the pedal on the last yellow

On the street I just hold the brake and smash the gas
The Vig 3600 I instaqlled made burnouts way too easy

The most important thing is to have those tires smoking when you come out of the water so not to have any on the tires when you pull to the line.

What I usually do is have the gear selector in 1st quick spin em in the waterbox then I roll forward until im out of the water and then I hit the linelock and then I take first to like 6000 then I manual shift 2nd and keep the rpms at like 5-6k for a few seconds till I see the tires smoking good then I click the linelock off and just let roll outta the gas until im up to the tree. Then I put it in 3rd or 4th footbrake and when I see the third yellow im to the floor.
