Default how do trans lines lock in? help!!!

this is my first time installing an auto with these type of connectors with the little plastic round clips, how do they go on? I thought I had them on but I can easily pull the line out after I thought the clip was in place, it doesent seem like they will stay in place with pressure in them. its a 4l60 in a camaro

There should be an E clip looking piece in the fittings on the transmission which holds the line in place. The plastic pieces just keep the E clips from coming off.

yeah, you need the clips that go on the fittings. If you look at the fittings you will see a a slot...the clips co into those slots and then you push the line in. This locks the lines into the fitting. Then just slide the plastic pieces over the clips

Here is a photo of one of our transmissions with the new fittings that we install. Look closely and you can see the clips. Why is it that you do not have the clips for your trans? Is this a new unit that did not come with them or are you doing a conversion? Here is a photo to help you out.

with the e-clips on the fittings, push the trans lines on untill they snap.then use the plastic piece to protect them. when pulling the lines out you have to use a pick to remove the clips before pulling the lines out, then put the clips back on the fitting so that you do not loose them.

I have a short video clip of me putting the clip in and snapping the cooler line in place.
Was testing the new camera, somehow this 30 second video ended up at 32MB.
Anyone want to see it? I figure it might be too big.

Is there a fitting made to replace the rear extended fitting on a 4l80e so you can get rid of the snap on fittings and use an type fittings? If so where can I get them?

Can you just put a wrench on those fittings and turn them out instead of messing with the clips or will that mess something up in the tranny? I am in the middle of my converter swap right now and I am having a hell of a time with those clips. I have been messing with them for over an hour and I can not get them out to get the lines out. What am I doing wrong?

I make them all the time. Here are a couple fittings that I have made for the rear fitting on the 4l80e. These are basic AN fittings that I drill to install a 3/8 steel line. Here are a couple photo's.
