Default Torque Converter

What is the stall on a stock converter for a 1995 T/A 4L60E? I'm going to get an aftermarket converter for my car and I was just wondering wat stall i should get? Anything would help. Thanks

A 3000 stall works good on a stockISH LT1 car. You could go bigger and probably give up some driveability, but I'm not sure if it would perform much better because of the torque curve of the LT1. Your best bet will be to do your research and decide on a brand and then ask them for recomendations. Most around here will suggest a yank or vig, but I had good results with performabuilt. Circle D is also a sponsor and they have some nice looking stuff. Good luck.

1800 rpm stock stall...not sure though...

a 3- 3200 stall is just about right for a stockish LT1.
your sig say's you have a 3600 stall...what's up,man?

I have had a bunch of different stall ranges over the years on my car. And three different converter manufactures...What info are you really looking for? My current converter (Yank SS3600) is by far the stockish feeling verter. More so, than a old VIG 2600 I used to run. That flashed to 3600 on my combo but it was a little looser driving around than my SS3600 (weird). I'm going to pull that converter and either sell it or restall to SS4000 (against my cam it's just not enough stall)...But on a stock car or even a healthy cam car, that you want a stockish feel for, I recommend that one for DD's.... If not that one, then try a vig 2800 (3200-3300 real stall) It would be my next choice, then PI 3200 (3600 real stall). Lots of different choices out there. But don't under stall as you'll not see much difference on a hiway roll..."extension is your friend"......and not much on take off either

Go with a Yank. You cannot go wrong with a Yank. As far as the size on the LT1 I have no clue.
