Exclamation th350 or 700r4 ????????daily driver + drag racing?????????

I did a research but I didn’t get the complete answer
I am confuse to chose which one th350 or 700r4 for LS1 engine bolt ons + cam
The car will be daily driver + drag racing
Can the 700r4 handle the around 450 hp?
Will the 700r4 give me the same time that th350 will give me @ ¼?
I didn’t choose 4l60e because I want to avoid electric and costly rebuild.
The last thing, is the ratio depends on the accelerate.
Any comment?

I chose the 4l60e because the pricing is very close to the 700r4 but if your using the LSX I am assuming your using fuel injection and the PCM to run the car anyway, With this the 4L60E would be the best all around choice and have tunability the 700r4 does not, As for the 350 I didnt choose it because as a daily driver and fuel cost like they are if you drive it much you could pay for a couple 4l60es or 700r4 trans with the money saved on gas. And either unit built properly should have no problem at that power level.

well if I was gonna choose it would be the center hughes, and that part is a must, However unless you are well versed in building performance 4l60e and have all the correct tools , I would not suggest tackeling it yourself as I have seen many do this only to end up with way more time and money in it than they would have had if they had just bought one, I would suggest you just buy the trans you need from us or even one of the other sponsors here . I think you would be far better off.

1badzo, I get 24mpg, have almost 700HP on juice and have been beating this 4L60E style trans for 2 years!!! Come out of the stoneage. This confuses other people. A well built 350 with the 36 element sprag and drum,($350.00), plus good clutches bushings etc. is almost as exspensive as a 4L60E. I build trannies for a living and can tell you a 4L60E is the way to go today. I also agree with Performabuilt, the "e" is the way to go, LS1SS4Ever.

The performance is esentially the same , The 60e however gives to the option of easy tunability and no TV cables and govenors to mess with to try and get the shift points correct.

Actually seeing people here agree that the 4L60E is the best choice. This could be a first
