Default Locking Up The Converter Manually

Does anyone make anything to lock up the converter other than the good old toggle switch? Trans is a 4L80 fully manual. Thanks

You may want to look at the TCI lockup kit that uses vacume and speed to determine lockup its made for the 700r4 but I imagine it could be adapted to the 4L80E to

Or B&M had a speed-sensitive slide switch setup for the 700R4 I used before that might work.

I don't think the speedo is correct on my car. In fact I know it's off. I will check to see if it matters. What's the worst thing that will happen if you forget to unlock the converter if it was on a toggle switch? Thanks DeltaT

Another option would be to turn off the solenoid codes and few others then plug he factory PCM in and let it do lockup for you

To the OP what sort of car / PCM is this going in? Please say a 93 LT1 car because I've been thinking of how to setup a lock up converter in a 4l80e (rmvb) for a while.

So what you're saying is that even though this trans will be fully manual, I should be able to get the converter to lock automatically? When will it lock? What will it use to determine when and when not to lock? I don't know jack s**t about automatics and I appreciate all the advice. Where will I find this software to load? Is it already in the HP Tuners? Thanks.

I am not sure about where to get the 80e software. But yes its will work that way and it will lock normally just like any auto car acording to RPM and SPEED acompanied by throttle position.
