Default A4 Big Stall External Cooler only

How many of you guys are running big stalls on a dd with the stock radiator cooler bypassed? Im putting a griffin radiator vertically mounted with a trucool 4490 stacked plate cooler mounted in front of the radiator. The stall is a vigilante 3600 lockup. Im just worried about in town driving causing a heat problem.

I drive my Vig 3600 daily and I still use the stock cooler 160 deg t-stat and modified fan settings with just a Large Hayden "race" series cooler with a dedicated fan on it. temps have gotten no higher than 205-210 in stop and go on mid 90 deg days.

My hyden was mounted infront of the a/c condeser, I had it run to the factory cooler first. 2 is better than 1 IMO.

I have a Yank SS3600 and an autometer full sweep electric gauge connected directly to the tranny connection. Normal driving for me, in Florida 90-100* summer temps (in traffic), with my BMR 29,000 GWV cooler, mine goes as high as 220-225 on the hottest days. If I take it really easy and am in traffic for a long time, normal temps are about 210-215.

Highway (just an fyi) it runs about 170-180. Just driving around where it's not too congested, on the hottest days, it runs abour 190-195.

I have a ss4000 and I bypass the stock cooler. I have a permacool cooler with a fan (which I never need to use) and my temps have never been over 180*. Also if you run it through the radiator the tranny temps will rise with the engine coolant.

You won't have a problem with trans overheating at all even without a fan it hsould be fine if you mount it in front of the radiator because the cars fans will also draw air through there... I still run my stock cooler because I need it to warm the trans in the winter because I daily drive my car. I bypassed the stocker last year and the trans never warmed up past 100 deg driving 20-25 miles to and from work when the outside temps were below freezing.
