Default Transmission experts step in!

Hey guys, I have a question regarding the transmission on my 06 Impala SS. It has the 4T65 tranny, and has already been in the shop twice for transmission problems. Currently, only while accelerating hard, the car shudders quite a bit shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. The first time I had this problem the dealer discovered a broken band in my transmission, so they replaced that and it didn't help. The second time I brought it in they replaced the 2nd gear clutch assembly , which helped out some, but it still has that shudder going into 2nd gear under hard throttle. I'm all out of ideas as to what could be wrong with it now, I'm thinking either the valve body or maybe the accumulator. Please chime in if you have any ideas. The car has 16k miles on it btw.

Thanks!

If it isn't under warranty, don't take it to a dealership. They should have never given you the car back without it being fixed.

The car is still under warranty, and when I got the car back it SEEMED to be fixed, but within 1000 miles its starting to do the same thing again.

I would try to get them to replace the unit seeing as this is the 3rd time around. It does sound like you have an issue with a one way clutch. Vince

Better still ask them to replace the trans with one built by the sponsors on here and u make up the difference, that way they won't have any trans issues again

So I went to the dealer today, went for a ride with their tranny guy, and he told me that what I was feeling was normal, and I shouldn't be concerned. I know this can't be true, we have an 08 Impala SS at work with 5k miles and it shifts mint. Not really sure what I should do now.

I would get an independant opinion/ diagnoses if possible and then present that to the dealer. If the local dealer isn't willing to review their decision ask them to bring in their area warranty claims rep/ manager. That usually gets them moving.

Will another dealer work on it if they find out it's been apart by another? I won't tell them up front that it has, but I'm sure they can run the VIN and see what has gone on with it.

Not sure why they would have a problem working on it, but they will find out that it has been in the shop before.
