3600 stall ?
i finially got ahold of some money... so im gonna get a stall hopefully this next coming weeknd . so my question is .. Is a 3600vigilante to weak for a MS3 sized cam? people keep telling me to go 4000 and i'd figured its gonna suck for my daily driver! i want to shoot for 11's full bolt-on's and low 11's with a cam-only!
im doin 12.5@ 111 rite now w/ 373's, cold air, p&p TB and full exhuast.

You should probably ask this in the Auto section. Or maybe the Gen III internal area.. Texas-Speed could help you as well.
But back to the question, I run a PT4000, but I am on the stock cam, so its nowhere near as soft down low as the MS3 would be. But since the converter is so loose as well, it may be a moot point. Really other than gears, LS6, and lid my car is pretty mild. I'd consider myself a bit of a "weenie" when it comes to things like this but I have no issues with one that loose. I had a 3400 2.1 Fuddle in it previously. With that converter it was super easy to drive. With this one you have to pay attention or you'll accidentally be turning 3K + every time you take off, so in that regard its worse.
Seeing as you are in TX, I'd almost bet my life that there is someone in the area with a MS3 and a big stall, maybe they would let you drive their car (or at least take you for a ride).

Well I got a Yank ss3600 and installed it last weekend... I took it to the track and ran 8.56 on street tires in the 8th... I couldn't hook up worth a damn... I think with good sticky tires (and when I finally put my 3.73s in) I could hit a 8 flat? Stall brake launching is ****** sweet man!!! I am more than pleased with my 3600 but they say that Vig underrates their stalls by like 200 so your 3600 vig may act more like a 3800...

Actually a vig3200 acts like a 3600 and a vig3600 acts like a 4000. You're worried about a converter feeling loose in a daily driver but you put a MS3 cam in it? What's wrong with this picture
If I were you I would look at a Yank SS4000. That stall will give the cam the extra rpm's it'll want and shouldn't feel as loose as the Vig3600 (really a 4000 stall).
Now that's not to say a 3500/3600 stall won't work. It will work but you'd be giving up a little ET at the track and a little extra zip from a rolling WOT run.
Good luck and don't forget the tranny cooler. It's a must and the bigger the better!

Is the MS3 new to you? I think you'll be surprised at how a big cam will sometimes improve you gas millage. I think it's cause you loose some of that low end torque that makes you want to step into it leaving every stop light. With the stall you're not going to "nail it" every time you take off. Anyway, that's my .02.

my vote is for the yank SS4000.... i just ordered a SS3600 for my bolt on only LT1!!! that i DD in the summer! yanks r the best of all the worlds.... tighter for DD ability, u dont loose as much mph, and they launch hard too! call dave im sure he will recommend u a SS4000

may want to take a look at our converter line, I personally have P-built 3000 in my 01 t/a and it is amazing really good street manners but shows its rear when you get on it.

I've had 2 Yank SS3600's and with 3.73's, it's a killer stall. I finally stepped up to a PT4000 and didn't notice much difference in drivieability. When I hit the converter hard the difference definitely SOTP and it hits a lot harder. It's about $120.00 more than the SS3600 is.
