4l60e shift cable trouble
Ok, got a new shift cable for my 94 z28. The plastic receiver for the ball stud on the shifter end was the same as the old cable and fit fine. However, the ball stud receiver on the transmission shift lever end appears to be for a much larger ball stud than what I have on my shift lever. Did this get revised to a larger ball stud or did I get the wrong shift cable? The length and everything else seems fine, just the different sized receiver. The part number I got was 12558306

I have the same issue on a truck that is, the ball stud is corroded and the shift cable came off the other day.
I would like to take the lever off the tranny and modify the stud so it's beefier then add a retainer clip or cotter pin so the cable won't slip off.
The nut holding the lever as well as the treaded portion coming out of the tranny is corroded. I've soaked it with let go, etc.
I'm afraid to wrench on the nut too much for fear of breaking something in the tranny and I can't put heat to it cause of the electronics directly behind it. Any tips/suggestions?
Thanks!
