Default plastic accumulator pistons?

did all the 4l60e's in the 4th gen f-bodies come with plastic accumulator pistons? or did some get lucky and have metal ones?

You can replace them with aluminum.

i know but what im asking is did they all come with plastic ones stock? reason is, is i have been reading alot on here about how the plastic pistons crack. well mine has aluminum ones in it and it is stock. i was just wondering if mine was lucky or if some others had alum. ones or not

they changed it in 2000 to metal i believe.

The earlier units had aluminum and then GM went to plastic. It was probably to save a few bucks. Not sure on the year. I think 96 and later had plastic. Vince
