Default Need help deciding on TH400 or 4L80E

Im slowly building the car from the back forward. My Moser M9 will be on the way soon and now looking at which way to go as far as a tranny. What are the price differences in the 2 and what is all needed for the conversion? Any info will be appreciated

It all comes down to whether you want overdrive or not. I had a t400 for a couple years but I'm switching to a 4l80e just to get overdrive and try to be a little more street friendly. The swaps are pretty similer. With an 80 you need to decide if you want a full manual or computer controlled. The controller part can get pricey. There are some issues with a transbrake on the 80's.

The car wont see the streets much but will occasionally drive it down to a local meet or a car wash but i would like to still have the overdrive. What are the pricing on the 2 trannys and what are the issues with a transbrake on the 80's because i plan on having a brake in the car

What is the rwhp of the car and does it have any power adders? Both transmissions that you are looking at can be built to different levels depending on which parts are used. With that being said that will determine the price. Feel free to give us a call to discuss your situation. Vince
