Tranny Doesnt Shift
Ok I feel like I have read this same question on here but my search skills are lacking today and cant find anything.
I installed a 3000 stall today and during normal driving it shifts great. But at WOT it just bounces the rev limiter even if I put it in gear and then manually upshift.
My shift points are set at 6200 and the limiter is at 6700. What do I need to do to make it shift.
Thanks

When I did the converter I serviced it to. It also has a transgo hd2 kit and I put all three of the washer things in the 1-2 accumulator like it said for high stall applications. Before the stall it didnt slip at all and had nice crisp fast shifts. Now it gets to the point to shift and then feels like it falls into the next gear.
With a new converter what is the normal ammt. of fluid to add?

The amount of fluild to add varies , Just make sure when warm the fluid is atthe top of the crosshatch , I actually prefer it be just a little over. Are you sure your not confusing sliping with thenormal way a stall feels. They act alot like having a pillow or cushion in the drive line.
Now on the rev limiter you have several different things happening. You are sending more torque to the input shaft and RPM are climbing faster, You may have to allow more time for the shift. At the same time your RPM may be higher due to the stall than it was at a given time while the MPH much lower comparitivley which could confuse the PCM and it may not be comanding the shift because of this when it should. You can determine that with a data log of when the shifts actually being comanded. This is not and unusual problem after a stall is put in and tuning has not yet been done.

i think I got it figured out. I added some tranny fluid and it is better now. Think I was a little low. like 2 quarts. Hopefully the little bit I drove it around didnt hurt anything.

haha yeah, has anyone ever heard of someone punching a hole in the dipstick tube going to the tranny? Cause when I just pour the fluid down the dipstick tube it just pours on the ground down the side of the tube, I have to put a hose down the tube and and then pour in the fluid. idk what I did to the dipstick tube.
And is it possible to get the dipstick tube out with the motor and tranny in the car?
