Default Yank 3000 Stall? Good?

Hey i have a 95 z with the 4l60e and was looking at stalls and i heard yank has some preety good stuff, what are yours guys opinion on that? I was more than likely gonna go with a 3000 stall just seeing if yank makes good stuff?

Thanks!

To small. Even a stock set-up could use between a 3200-3600 Yank.

Hrm....ok. Anyone else have any opinions on whether i should go 3000 or 3200, i cant afford any higher and the 3200 is pushing it. And whether Yank is a good brand to go with?

I would go 3000 since you have an LT1. I wouldnt go any higher than that unless you have some mods and a cam. And Yank is the only company I will use. I have a ss4000 and it completely owns house. The build quality is top notch.

To get there your going to need a good cam. So you should match the cam with the stall. You can go bigger, just make sure it matches the power band of the cam and you'll be good. A bigger cam will move the power band up and allow you to run a bigger stall.

right now iam workin on building everything up first, i.e. bolt ons, stall, gears etc... then next winter when the car goes in storage iam thinking about throwing a cam and longtubes in it... but that would be the earliest i cam it.

Iv'e owned a Vig. 2800 and now the Yank SS3600. Both great converter companys. The Vig. was more like a 3000 if not higher. Don't do like I did and buy twice, it gets exspensive. The SS3600 is fine for now and will work well in the future with more upgrades. Just remember, having gears tames the stall. Mine drives damn near stock with the 3.73s, till you punch it.

I am running a Vig 3200, and it is awesome. I would not have any problem using a Yank, both are high quality stalls.

NO, get yourself a Yank SS3600 or minimum a Vig. 3200. It will not be to much converter. Trust me.

SS3600. Don't go any lower.
I've got a ST3000 sitting in my garage and the SS3600 drives just like it...

Until you punch it.

I have a 95 z with an FLT tranny and Yank 3200 - that 3200 is just right for
DD and the occasional wild hair. Dave explained that this will be fine with my
eventual goal of a 383/Ai-Dart heads/krispy cam.

I recommend that you pick up the phone and talk to Dave at Yank and discuss
your goals - he'll set you up!

Since you ARE getting a cam next winter, you should go with a min. ss3200 and a max of 3600. But match it with the power band(torque) of the cam.
