Default TH400, 80E... Questions..

I will be stepping up my power outage next winter, and I have a brand-new Performbuilt level 2 now. But with the numbers I think I might be hitting I don't think she will last.

So right now I am trying to look at my possibilities.

The price of the 80E's kind of scare me.. lol. But I really haven't found any 400's that will hold the power I am looking at. (800+).

Who builds a good 400?
What all is involved in swapping in a 400/80E?
What are there price range/deference's between the two tranny's?
Witch would you guys prefer?
Experiences with either?

I am wanting to have a RMVB, and a Trans brake as well.

Future plans for my car, is a forged 370 with a s88 turbo, you know with all the bells and whistles. I am not going to list everything, because its not needed.

What do you guys think? Feel free to copy and paste questions and answer individually.

Thanks

Lane

read my faq

you can eaisly get a 400 to handle that power
the 80e is the same thing with a added 4th gear

so if you want lighter and no 4th go with the 400 and if you want 4th go with the 80e

you can get a 80 out of a truck from a junk yard for 600-800 bucks. why sponsors want 3500 for them plus a converter baffles me. hell factory they are hella strong, and wit ha few goodies they are literally unbreakable

another idea is to get a sponsor to build you a special lock up th400- i know yank makes them and they are like 2000 bucks or so. ive read the turbos like low final drives so maybe a th400 with a lockup and a 2.7 final drive?
