Default 6L90E in 69 Camaro

I am building a 69 Camaro with an LS7 motor running a 6L90E trans. Yes, I was very nervous about the size of the 6L90E and how it would all fit up. I used the ATS engine mount conversion package and their low profile dry sump pan and works great. The oil pan is a work of art! The 6L90E bolts up well with no grounding problems in the tunnel and the trans. bolts up level. The issue is the depth of the trans oil pan. The trans has a 3" deep sump as it was made for the GM 2500 series trucks. Has anyone work through a pan modification to shorten the pan as well as the filter and pick up tube assembly? I would feel much better if I could get at least an 1" more ground clearence. Right now the sump hangs below the subframe rails the full 3". Once I get past this hurddle the Speartech harness will be hooked and the rest will come together easily.

The C6 Vettes use the 6L80 trannsmission, might be able to switch out the filter and pan, assuming it is not as deep. I have not compared the two, they might be the same, but I would imagine the vette has a shallower pan.
