Default What is the difference

Hey guys! I have an 00' LS1 from a corvette that i am looking for a tranny to go with it. I was wondering if there is any difference in the 4L60E trannies between the different years. Do i need a 00' 4l60e tranny to work with my motor? I found a 98' 4l60e out of a suburban at a local salvage yard. Would that work with my setup? Thanks alot

The bellhousing bolt pattern on the vortec v8's is the same as the lt1's and older tbi vehicles. All bellhousings for the gen III engines should be same regardless of vette, camaro, or truck. Look for a newer vehicle with the gen III engine w/tranny and you should be ok.

Okay thats good. So they all should bolt up no prob. So it won't matter that the tranny is from a different year and different car? All the internals should line up and work? Thanks for you help!!!!
