Default Does your A4 car feel slower than a M6 car?

I switched from a M6 to A4 in my car. With stock ported heads, LS6 intake, G5X2 cam and stock internals, the M6 ran a 11.8 untuned. Now that it's an A4 with forged internals, a F14 cam Dart heads, 4000 stall tuned it feels slower... so I'm told. The new engine is also at 11.5:1 compression.

Before anyone says anything about the tuning, it has been done professionaly by Chad at Greenlight.

A4's always feel slower in a similiar powered car. I bet your timeslip will tell a different story though.

I agree, I would always beat my friends car stock to stock, but his car always felt like a beast.

Thanks for the replies. I hope that it's much faster than my old set up, especially being an A4 now versus a M6. I guess on the 200 shot it runs very strong, and it's at 10.5:1 A/F on spray. 12.8 N/A with 20* of timing on the nitrous tune. I plan on dropping down a jet size on the fuel to help bring the A/F a little leaner. I don't know if that 20* of timing was in when Chad was running it N/A though. He said it felt like a 11.7 car N/A

A standard will always feel faster than a auto with the same mods, only because the auto will be smooth power. Kinda like a 250 two stroke dirtbike vs a 450 four stroke, the 2 stroke will feel faster because of the hit but its not.

My A4 car that runs 11.8s feels slower than my friends 13.0 M6. I think its because with a stalled auto you can barely feel it shift compared to an M6.

Kinda like riding in a turbo car. The turbos spool up quick once you hit the right rpms so then it pulls you.

My buddy's high 13sec 5sp 5.0 feels fast when you're riding in it. But I just don't FEEL the pull/let off/pull/let off in my car even though I obliterate him in a race.

I agree with what is said above! My 12.3 (MN12 Z06) car feels a lot faster than my wife's 10.4 (stalled A4) car, but it only takes a side by side run to show the difference...

It's all about the timeslips, not the "feel".

Faster now, shoot wait until we finish and install her new setup! With my 12 second car, I will need binoculars to see her finish... LSX 454 with a 300 direct port...

I get to drive it too though, so it isn't so bad. I just married a woman who is a dedicated Camaro fan and who's gotten addicted to horsepower and not diamond rings, expensive purses, or shoes...

The Z06 will get a forged motor, driveline, and some FI next year...

Manuals always feel faster because there is that little pause of momentum inbetween shifts that allows your body to re-align upright in the seat before your thrown back from the clutch engaging.

Good question but you wouldn't think so since it still would be enganging smoother/faster as an auto unlike the very firm shifting/pausing of a standard.

Could be wrong and let someone shime in who has one!

Ok so.. A4's feeling slower than M6's. I know you usually give up MPH with a A4, but ET's win races. I just wished it felt as fast as it really is.
