Default TH350 takes a dump

Ok, first of all it is a RMVB t350. Driving to work and everything is fine, come up on traffic, and slow down to a stop. So, i down shift to second. Traffic starts to move so I give it gas, and it just revs up. Downshift to first and the same thing happens, no gear. Get it to the shoulder, and try all gears...nothing, not even reverse. What is weird is before this happened, when I had it in park it would idle really high like 1500-2000(tune related), but I put it in gear it would go down to 1k. Now even in any of the gears(I don't have) it stays between 1500 and 2k. Any idea what could have happened? Also, I had no issues before this day.

Thanks

So, would a new pump fix it, or is it already toast? (If that is indeed the problem)

<------Doesn't know much about tranny's.

I would check all shifter linkage as well...never know could be an easy fix. Odd timing on when it just seemed to let go.

Just completed this conversion in my car...took a few times to get the shifter adjusted and working right.

Good luck.
